Thinking Outside the Lingerie Drawer

“Do I bring my own lingerie?”

This is one of the top questions I get when engaging with new boudoir clients, and it’s a good one! So, let’s talk about clothes.

The short answer is that, yes, you can bring your own lingerie. I also have a wardrobe full of clothing, props, and accessories to accentuate your style. But classic lingerie is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to boudoir outfits.

A breeze through my photo gallery will give you an idea of the kind of clothing we can work with. Classic lingerie? Of course. But also…

  • Vintage dresses
  • Men’s button-up shirts
  • Cosplay outfits
  • Military uniforms
  • Oversized sweaters
  • Your partner’s clothing
  • Sexy jeans paired with a midriff top

On top of all these options are accessories like…

  • Beads & pearls
  • Boots
  • Wedding veils
  • Stilettos
  • Cowboy hats
  • Furry blankets
  • Angel wings
  • Headbands/bows/flowers
  • Chunky jewelry

You are unique

All of my clients are unique. Some will come with an array of outfits and accessories, some will come with only a few favorite items. My preference is to communicate with you about what you’re comfortable in, what you already have in your closet, and give you feedback when you’re shopping for new clothes.

One thing that sets me apart from many photographers is that I communicate with you every step of this exciting journey. I have gotten photos from clients in fitting rooms, screenshots of Amazon wishlist items, and frantic phone calls when a planned negligee is suddenly too small. I appreciate this communication because I don’t want you to purchase something that won’t translate as sexy when we start taking pictures. Sometimes, an item that looks amazing on your body doesn’t photograph well, and we don’t want that.

My absolute belief is that skimpy lingerie is NOT the only way to capture your sexy side. Anything and everything that makes you feel sensual, that captures your unique personality and character is the goal we’re aiming for. Many women assume that the sexiest thing they can wear is a lacy bra and panties, but the look on their partner’s face when they see an image of them in a men’s button-up shirt (especially THEIR shirt), tells the truth.

Everything is custom

Typically, while you are sipping champagne and having your hair and makeup done, my assistant and I will lay out the clothing you brought and start pairing them up with other pieces and accessories from my arsenal. This is a really fun time and we get creative with what we have learned about you and what you have expressed you want. When assembling your outfits we work on highlighting the parts of your body you are proud of and minimizing your areas of insecurity.

Let’s work together on the clothing that fits your style. The final product is a series of photos that will reflect your personality, highlight your best features and make your partner say, “Wow!”
