Pin-Up Isn’t About Pretending:

It’s About Letting Yourself Play Again

There’s something about pin-up photography that makes women light up.

Maybe it’s the red lipstick.
Maybe it’s the vintage dresses, pearls, heels, and classic cars.
Or maybe it’s simply having permission to step outside everyday life for a few hours and play.

And that’s one of the things I love most about photographing pin-up.

You Don’t Have to “Be a Pin-Up Girl”

I hear women say things like:

“I could never pull that off.”

“I don’t know how to pose.”

“I’m not sexy enough.”

“I wouldn’t know what to wear.”

Here’s the secret: you don’t have to know any of those things.

You aren't expected to walk into my studio already knowing how to be a pin-up model. That's what the experience is for.

I help with the posing, expressions, angles, and little details that bring the look together.

You simply get to show up.

Pin-Up Can Be Playful, Sassy, Sweet—or All Three

Pin-up isn't one specific look.

Maybe you're sweet and feminine.

Maybe you're a little mischievous.

Maybe you want classic Hollywood glamour.

Maybe you want a vintage dress, red heels, cat-eye sunglasses, and a fabulous old truck.

There is room for YOUR personality.

That's when the images become more than a costume. They start feeling like you.

The Experience Starts Before I Pick Up My Camera

One of my favorite images from this session isn't even one of the finished portraits.

It's the behind-the-scenes photograph.

Because this is part of the story, too.

The preparation. The laughter. Getting into character. Adjusting the little details. Watching the transformation begin.

A pin-up session isn't simply arriving, standing in front of my camera, and smiling.

It's an experience.

And sometimes the woman who walks out carries herself a little differently than the woman who walked in.

And Yes... We Can Bring Out the Cars

Anyone who knows me knows that vintage style and classic vehicles have a special place in my heart.

There's just something about combining a beautiful woman, fabulous styling, and an old vehicle with a little history behind it.

Perfect doesn't interest me nearly as much as personality does.

Rust, patina, old paint, red heels and a great smile?

Now we're talking.

Maybe It's Time to Do Something Just Because It's Fun

You don't need a milestone.

You don't need to lose ten pounds.

You don't need to wait until you're more confident.

And you definitely don't need anyone else's permission.

Sometimes you can book a photography session simply because you want to put on the dress, wear the red lipstick, climb into an old truck, laugh a little too loudly, and see a side of yourself you haven't seen in a while.

That's reason enough.

And who knows?

You might walk in thinking you're just taking some fun photographs...

and walk out thinking,

“Oh, there she is.”
